Recycled Polyester VS. Traditional Polyester

Recycled Polyester VS. Traditional Polyester

The main difference between recycled polyester and traditional polyester lies in the raw materials and performance:

1. Different Raw Materials: Recycled polyester uses recycled PET materials, such as used mineral water bottles and textile waste, which are processed and regenerated into fibers. Ordinary polyester is a material synthesized directly from chemical raw materials PTA and MEG.

2. Performance Differences: The strength and performance of recycled polyester may be slightly inferior to those of virgin polyester, but both retain the characteristics of polyester, such as strength, good elasticity, heat resistance, abrasion resistance and light resistance. Recycled polyester has made significant contributions to environmental protection and can reduce the use of petroleum resources and waste emissions.

3. Environmental Attributes: The production of recycled polyester reduces the demand for new fossil fuels, saves 6 tons of oil per ton of finished product, and helps reduce environmental pollution, which is in line with the concept of circular economy.

4. Identification Method: Recycled polyester and virgin polyester are identified by standards such as (GB/T 39026-2020), and their molecular structures are analyzed by chemical methods to identify them.

Therefore, choosing recycled polyester means supporting sustainable development. Although it may be slightly inferior in some performance, it has obvious advantages in environmental protection and resource recycling.
